If Britain was declared by U.N. resolution to be the rightful home of anyone who could trace their ancestry back to the ancient British Celts, that these "modern Celts," wherever in the world they happen to currently abide, had the "right" to "settle" my land and force me into a ghetto, to do to a map of my country what has been done to the above map of Palestine…
Would you claim that the roots of my hostility toward these invaders—oh, I'm sorry, "settlers"—lay in the soil of religion, not territory or politics?
Yes, religion, both that of the displaced and that of the displacers, has played a part—a massive part—in the problems before and since. And no, I don't defend the religiously based violence and bigotry from either party.
But please.
Take a second to think about the political and territorial situation, before laying all of the blame at the door of the religion of the oppressed party.
If this makes me anti-Semitic, so be it. (I guess that makes Rabbi Lionel Blue anti-Semitic too, right?) But why should it? I don't claim that the Palestinians have had their country stolen from under them because I'm pro-Muslim. I claim it because they've had their country stolen from under them. Nor do I claim that the people who stole that country are acting immorally because I'm anti-Semitic. I claim it because stealing people's countries from under them is an immoral act.

I think it makes you anti-Zionist, not anti-Semitic. And yes, I agree, the Palestinians have really not been treated fairly here.
I’m a Celt by ancestry. Brilliant idea. Oh hang on, I *already* own a significant plot of land in a city that was founded by a Saxon in c.800 CE. Pwned!
Anti-Semitic is a misnomer. The Semitic peoples include Jews *and* Arabs. They are the descendants of Shem, Noah’s firstborn. The Jews and Arabs didn’t split off till Ishmael and Isaac – both are descendants of Abraham, who was a Semite.
So labelling oneself anti-Semitic sets one up against the entire squabblesome race of hotheaded troublemakers, if that helps …
Modern Israel would never have been founded were it not for Genesis 12&15 and Joshua.
