In Judges, One, we're told at length
The Lord came down and lent his strength
To Judah's tribe as they did fight
In north and south, to left and right.
They took those lands and made them theirs,
As promised to all of Moses' heirs.
Don't be surprised, they took those lands;
His are, we're told, all-powerful hands.
Which might just raise a puzzled frown
When verse nineteen comes around;
For omni-potence falls apart
In the face of a squadron of iron carts.
19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
