Yes folks, it's another music post. Basically, I think I'm avoiding saying anything serious about the current mess because then I might have to actually admit it's not just a really bad dream. Ho-hum.
Anyways, seeing that barriejohn had, alluding to his old-fashioned taste in music, posted the theme from The Third Man, I went looking for a copy of the theme from Genevieve, and ran across Philip Achille's wonderful version of same, performed at the Proms some years back. And it occurred to me that whenever I post harmonica-based music, I always—such being my main taste—go for blues-based numbers. So here's some that aren't in that vein (well, unless you count Summertime as blues); because they're good, and because, like barriejohn, I have an old-fashioned, non-rock-and-blues, side to my musical taste. In light of which, these are for barriejohn and I; though should anyone else want to post favourites in the same spirit (harmonica-based or not) in comments, please be my guest.
